Vamana
Therapeutic emesis (one of the classical Panchakarma procedures)
Overview
Vamana is a classical Panchakarma procedure used in selected Kapha-dominant conditions after proper preparatory care (Deepana, Snehana and Swedana). At Vedamrita, it is considered only when an Ayurvedic physician finds it clinically appropriate.
When physicians discuss it
Physicians may discuss Vamana for certain Kapha-related presentations after reviewing your history, constitution and investigations. It is never a self-administered detox.
Treatment approach at Vedamrita
Care includes assessment, preparation, the supervised procedure when indicated, and post-procedure diet and rest (Paschat Karma). Not every patient is a candidate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Vamana suitable for everyone?
No. Age, strength, pregnancy, acute illness and many medical conditions can make Vamana inappropriate. Only a qualified Ayurvedic physician should decide.
Where is Vamana performed at Vedamrita?
Supervised Panchakarma procedures are planned through our hospital network, commonly coordinated with the Barwala (Hisar) centre.
